There currently is no orientation required to use the casting room.
Access is at the discretion of the L3 CNC Technician.
There is no sanding allowed in the casting room.
Access to the Casting Room is restricted unless wearing proper PPE. Anyone using the space must wear goggles, gloves, a Tyvek suit, and a respirator with appropriate cartridges.
Gloves and goggles are provided by the shop but the Tyvek suit and respirator must be purchased by the student.
Space in the casting room is limited and can only support 1 – 2 students at a time depending on the scale of the project.
We have limited storage for projects on shelves. Projects must be labeled and can only stay on the shelf for up to 1 week. Storage slips must be signed off by a Technician.
We also have storage for open containers in a flammable storage unit. We highly encourage the use of this space to not contaminate the rest of the campus. Materials in this area can be stored long term. Please label your containers with your name and date.
