Nathan Carter - Co-Director, Making Center

Nathan received a Bachelor’s of Environmental Design from Texas A&M University and a Master’s of Architecture from Columbia University’s GSAPP, where he then performed the role of Manager of Fabrication and Operations for 8 years.  Nathan taught “Craft in the Digital Age” while at GSAPP which explored furniture making through merging traditional woodworking techniques with current digital fabrication technologies. At Parsons, in addition to his Co-Director role, Nathan serves as the Construction Manager for the Design Workshop summer build project, where he works hands on with a team of architecture students to build a full scale project each year.

Nathan’s personal practice encompasses objects, furniture, and architecture and continues to explore new materials and techniques.
